Hacerse Mundo is a public program and a research platform around three key concepts: ecology, body, and politics. It is articulated through a series of lectures, performances, installations, workshops, video art screenings, music programming, and food investigations that will come to life on a weekly basis.
The intention is to defamiliarize anthropocentric thinking and generate new forms of coexistence and cohabitation among all living beings. These unprecedented relational scripts are based on mutual respect and on processes of becoming together with the other that take the form of endless experimentation of intraspecific connectivity. Nature, however, is not assumed as a place of pacifying relations, but as a power that produces incessant antagonistic effects. Both for subjectivities and for nature, the best antibody is the production of tensions and anti-identity and anti-speciesist reformulations.
In the development of this new political ecology, the body becomes a privileged platform for environmental exchange, a means of experiencing the environment in relation to other living beings. The corporeal dimension is also useful for deconstructing the culture/nature dichotomy that sees nature, matter, and bodies as inert and passive territories waiting to be informed by human language and thought. Recognizing, on the contrary, the autonomy of matter, its capacity to act, allows us to revalue the body and its autonomous agentivity, that is, to generate an embodied politics of acting. The body becomes a sentient entity that assimilates and elaborates energies and forces, creating multidirectional relationships and repositioning the human being by becoming one among multiple acting subjects together with plants, animals, microbes, particles, ecosystems and matter.
